Emerson Resort & Spa:
A Luxurious Escape in the Hudson Valley

Over the river and through the woods, Emerson Resort & Spa awaits just two hours from Manhattan in the Hudson Valley. Now that the warmer weather has sifted through our region, this resort is a perfect escape for a rejuvenating weekend, romantic retreat or fun family getaway.

Emerson was completely rebuilt across the road from its original location in 2007 after a fire ravaged the building and property in 2005. This brand new resort lures visitors from near and far, and is geared for folks who are craving intense pampering, top-notch accommodations, and superior service.

The resort presents two options for your overnight stay. The Inn offers 26 spectacular, Silk Road-inspired suites with oversized windows and private decks. Each of these luxurious jewel-toned suites - Imperial, Royal and Regal - feature lush canopy beds, Swiss showers, and fireplaces, creating an opulent environment for ultimate relaxation. Overlooking the tranquil Esopus Creek, the 27-room Adirondack-style Lodge is the perfect locale for families and larger groups. Nestled in a serene landscape, The Lodge's rustic design and cozy ambiance set the tone to unwind and reconnect with nature.

A highlight of the resort is the 4-Star Asian-inspired full-service Spa. The space radiates tranquility and serenity, and upon entering through its magnificent, 13-foot, 17th Century Rajasthani palace doors, spa-goers are welcomed with soft colors and exotic decor that soothes mind, body and spirit. Guests can choose from a comprehensive range of Ayurvedic treatments in one of the Spa's ten treatment rooms. The extensive spa menu features hot stone massages, signature facials, body scrubs and wraps, and more. The salon offers a bountiful array of cosmetic services, including manicures, pedicures, hair styling and make-up application.

The 1,500-square-foot Fitness Center boasts state-of-the-art Nautilus equipment, a hot tub, sauna, steam rooms, and a lounge. You can also partake in a yoga class or secure a personal trainer. After a workout guests can enjoy light, healthy cuisine at the Spa Cafe.

One of two restaurants on premises, The Phoenix is sophisticated and elegant with fresh decor and sleek furnishings. They smartly divided their space in half, providing a more refined dining experience for adults and more comfortable accommodations for families with children. The Phoenix boasts modern American dishes, integrating fresh ingredients that are native to the Hudson Valley region. The restaurant's diverse wine list features a selection of world-class vintages that perfectly complement any dish.

Emerson's newest, more casual dining venue, Catamount Restaurant, is ideal for large groups or families. Opened on November 19, Catamount Restaurant has classic American fare and a children's menu.

The resort grounds feature an outdoor pool that is open Memorial through Labor Day, and a Coffee Bar chock full of fresh coffee, tempting treats, a flat screen TV and local book collection. If you're bringing along the kids, Emerson is home to the world's largest kaleidoscope, sure to dazzle the little ones with engaging visual and audio shows.

If you feel like a bit of shopping without having to go too far, the Emerson Resort Country Store has a collection of intriguing shops featuring brands like Dr. Hauschka, Crabtree & Evelyn, Simon Pearce glassware, Masters Collection from the Culinary Institute of America, Stonewall Kitchen and Bella Cucina Fine Foods. It also showcases creative and locally inspired items and gifts such as jewelry and home furnishings from the surrounding Hudson Valley in a restored 19th century barn

Just outside the Emerson, the area abounds with activities and small wonders. If you are the outdoorsy type you can take to the trails by bike or on foot, try your luck fishing in Esopus Creek, or take your wild side whitewater tubing. If you are an easygoing soul, the surrounding town of Phoenicia is dotted with shops, galleries, bookstores, and restaurants. You can also take a stroll along the Riverwalk and take in the sights, or hop on the Catskill Mountain Railroad for a tour of the historic city of Kingston.
